Pikachu Special Edition 3ds XL Coming to North America March 24th

So it seems that Nintendo has decided North America is worth more than three colors, and is sending the special edition pikachu 3ds XL our way March 24th.  Besides the over-mentioned nipples, there really isn’t much to say.  The yellow does make for a nice addition to the standard 3ds XL colors (red, blue, pink), however you would think that with the multitude of colors and specials editions in Japan they would give us a few more. Well, there is always future releases, such as Animal Crossing, but that’s a rumor I don’t want to indulge in or start.

It will retail for the same price as the XL’s that are already out there, however according to Joystiq, Target is advertising them at $169.99 for this week’s sale, which would make for a great deal.  The special edition does not come with a game, however if you purchase either Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity or Luigis Mansion: Dark Moon (Due to come out same day, March 24th), and register both the 3ds XL and one of those games on club Nintendo, you get a free download voucher.  The qualifying games you can purchase are: Super Mario 3d Land, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone, FreakyForms Deluxe: Your Creations, and Star Fox 64 3D. A very nice incentive, Nintendo.

Here’s a look that you probably have already seen, but hey, I want to show it too:
